Stormwater Site Inspections (Routine/Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual)

A stormwater site inspection is a required process of evaluating a facility to ensure compliance with regulations and best management practices (BMPs) outlined in the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Depending on the site's location, it may need to be conducted by a certified inspector who reviews the site and the SWPPP to identify any non-compliances and ensure that the site is operating in an environmentally friendly way.

During the inspection, the inspector checks for the proper implementation of BMPs such as sediment control measures, chemical storage, and spill response procedures. They also verify that the site is being maintained to prevent pollutants from entering stormwater runoff and that all stormwater discharge points are being properly monitored.

Stormwater site inspection is a crucial step in protecting surface waters and groundwater from pollutants and maintaining compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations. It helps facilities to identify and correct non-compliant areas, implement best practices, and avoid penalties and fines. By conducting regular site inspections, facilities can protect the environment, comply with regulations, and maintain a good reputation.
