Large Quantity Generator (LQG)

The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is a federal law that regulates the management and disposal of hazardous waste in the United States. The Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) category under RCRA includes businesses and organizations that generate less than 100 kilograms of hazardous waste per month. These entities are subject to specific requirements outlined in the RCRA regulations to ensure the safe and responsible management of hazardous waste.

VSQGs are required to properly store, label, and transport hazardous waste, as well as maintain accurate records and report to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when requested. VSQGs also need to train their employees on how to handle hazardous waste and have contingency plan for emergency. In addition, VSQGs are subject to inspections by the EPA to ensure compliance with the regulations. These regulations aim to provide a level of flexibility for small generators to manage their waste while still protecting the public and the environment from the potential harm caused by hazardous waste
